Day 2 of SCAJ 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight on Thursday 15 October was a cupping day for Indonesia Specialty Coffee. At Booth 1106, South Hall 1 & 2, our team ran three public cupping sessions, at 10:00, 12:00, and 14:00, and every session put all 12 Grade 1 Indonesian green coffee lots on the table. This recap covers how the Day 2 sessions were set up, the full line-up from Aceh, North Sumatra, Java, and Bali, and how to reach us on Friday 16 October, the final day of the show.

Day 2 Cupping Schedule at Booth 1106
On Thursday 15 October, Booth 1106 held three one-hour cupping sessions. Each session was a complete flight of the same 12 lots, so a visitor who arrived at any of the three times could cup everything we brought to Tokyo in a single sitting.
| Session | Time (Thursday 15 October) | Coffee line-up |
|---|---|---|
| Session 1 | 10:00 to 11:00 | All 12 lots |
| Session 2 | 12:00 to 13:00 | All 12 lots |
| Session 3 | 14:00 to 15:00 | All 12 lots |
The Day 2 schedule differed from Day 1, when Indonesia Specialty Coffee split the 12 lots into three flights of four, one flight per session. Moving to a full 12-lot flight in every session, and bringing the last session forward to 14:00, left the late afternoon free for one-on-one meetings on volume, pricing, and FOB Belawan or CIF Japan terms.
Why Every Session Cupped All 12 Lots
A full flight in every session means a buyer does not have to plan their day around one particular group of coffees. A roaster looking for a natural Gayo for filter, a wet-hulled Sumatra for espresso, and a Robusta for blends could compare all three on one table, at whichever session fitted their schedule at the show.
It also puts lots that are rarely cupped together side by side. On Day 2, every session placed the four Gayo Arabica lots from Aceh Tengah and Bener Meriah, carbonic maceration natural, natural classic, wet-hulled, and wine process, next to the honey lots from Java, North Sumatra, and Bali, and next to the Wild Kopi Luwak, Liberica Boja, and Robusta ELB Grade 1. That kind of comparison is hard to arrange from a pricelist, and it is the main reason we brought these 12 lots to Tokyo.
The 12 Indonesian Lots on the Day 2 Table
Every lot ships Grade 1, graded under SNI 01-2907-2008 (defect value 11 or lower, moisture 12.5% or lower), and every Arabica lot cups at 82 to 88 SCA points on SCA protocol.
| # | Lot | Species | Process | Cup character |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Aceh Gayo Carbonic Maceration Natural | Arabica | Carbonic maceration, natural | Vivid wine-like sweetness, lush full body, expressive acidity |
| 2 | Aceh Gayo Natural Classic | Arabica | Natural | Fruit-forward sweetness, heavy velvety body, refined juicy acidity |
| 3 | Aceh Gayo Wet-Hulled | Arabica | Semi-washed, wet-hulled (Giling Basah) | The classic Gayo Highlands profile: dark chocolate, cedar, brown sugar, heavy body |
| 4 | Aceh Gayo Wine | Arabica | Wine process (extended fermentation) | Bright acidity, natural sweetness, fruit, florals, dark chocolate |
| 5 | Bali Wanigiri Honey | Arabica | Honey process | Bali highland honey lot; full profile on request |
| 6 | Java Ijen CM Honey | Arabica | Carbonic maceration honey | Clean structure, elegant aromatics, subtle volcanic minerality |
| 7 | North Sumatra Lintong Wet-Hulled | Arabica | Wet-hulled (Giling Basah) | Grown at 1,300 to 1,600 m near Lake Toba; structure and depth |
| 8 | Sumatra Super Peaberry | Arabica | Wet-hulled, peaberry selection | Dense single-seed beans, bold flavour, hand sorted |
| 9 | North Sumatra Sipirok Hydro Honey | Arabica | Hydro honey | North Sumatra highland honey lot; full profile on request |
| 10 | Wild Kopi Luwak | Arabica | Natural (wild civet-processed cherry) | Nutty, vanilla, chocolate, almond; soft-medium acidity, mild body |
| 11 | Liberica Boja | Liberica | Natural | Liberica from Boja, Central Java; full profile on request |
| 12 | Robusta ELB Grade 1 | Robusta | Natural | Full body, earthy, consistent bean size, controlled moisture |
One practical tip if you took green samples home from a Day 2 session. Wet-hulled lots such as the Gayo Wet-Hulled, Lintong, and Sumatra Super Peaberry carry a slightly different moisture and density profile from the dry-hulled lots. Profile them separately rather than reusing your washed Central American curve.
